Session content: Personal brand profile and communicating with impact

Description of talk for event marketing and publicity

Suggested talk title: Make Yourself a Little Bit Famous - How to power up your personal brand profile and get known for what you do.

Unless you want to be a best-kept secret, the importance of getting exposure for what you do cannot be understated.

Having been under the radar herself, with no clue as to how to ‘get out there’, former BBC business presenter Penny Haslam has worked hard to communicate with impact and feel confident in doing so.

She now supports others to showcase what they do, without feeling like a show-off. With thought-provoking stories and plenty of practical advice, Penny challenges you to:

  • Increase your visibility, or that of your team or organisation, and make it part of your job
  • Be seen by the people that matter as someone with expertise, on your terms
  • Communicate with impact, brevity and confidence (so you don't feel like an idiot!).

This session is for you if you want to progress your career, the profile of your team or organisation and be more visible in order to engage your colleagues, clients, candidates, suppliers and stakeholders.

Session content: Confidence

Description of talk for event marketing and publicity

Suggested talk titles: Penny Haslam's Confidence Reset (or) Make Yourself a Little More Confident - Three steps for building confidence for yourself, your team and your organisation (or) Building Confidence & Self Belief.

Penny Haslam had fulfilled her lifelong ambition of becoming a live TV presenter, but she had a problem that no-one else could see – out of control nerves and a lack of self-assuredness, that regularly threatened to take her under.

Penny has now distilled her experiences into three steps that help others build their confidence – so they can navigate the future, ride out uncertainty and the bumps in the road - and set a course for personal and organisational success.

In this empowering, practical and entertaining talk, you will find out:

  • Why talking to yourself is bad for you and how to stop it in its tracks
  • The action you can take to accelerate your confidence
  • And the foundation stones for rock solid esteem, no matter how you’re feeling.

Confidence may seem like a personal issue to deal with and something you ‘work on’ in your own time. But Penny’s take is that confidence is required at all levels and by whole organisations. Which is why it’s so important, especially now, to learn ways to build confidence, for you and your colleagues.

Her business “Bit Famous” (because she was, ‘a bit famous’) helps leaders and managers in large organisations to communicate with confidence.

So, it’s fair to say she’s had to be incredibly self-assured to achieve all of that! But has she always had loads of confidence? Well, let’s find out...

Please welcome Penny Haslam.
